Your account and support

What this screen is for. The two pages behind the avatar at the top-right of every portal screen: your account (name, password, what gets emailed to you) and Help & support (a message straight to the HomeRecon team). How to get there. Tap your initials at the top right → Account settings or Help & support. Sign out lives in the same menu. What every button does Your account Who you are — edit Your name → Save name. That's the name your inspector sees when you message them. Your email is read-only: it's your sign-in address and where the inspector's records deliver your reports, so changing it is done by a person — tap "message support" and we'll move your account across properly. Password — change it with your current password and the new one twice, or — if you've only ever signed in by email link — "Set a new one here" appears instead, with no current-password box (sign in by email link first; that's what proves it's you). A wrong current password never costs you the new one you typed. How we reach you — plain statements, not switches: when a report is ready, your inspector emails it with a link straight to it; when your inspector replies to a message, you get a heads-up email, and the conversation itself lives on the report page. Want reports sent somewhere else, or fewer emails? Message support and a person sorts it out. Sign out — this device only; your reports stay in your account. Help & support A short form that already knows who you are — the "Sending as" line shows your name and email — subject optional, message required, Send message, and a "Message sent" confirmation. There's also a plain email link to [email protected] if you'd rather use your own mail app. This reaches HomeRecon's team — for questions about a specific report's contents, message your inspector on the report page instead. Common questions "How do I change my password?" Account settings → Password. Forgot it or never had one? Sign in with an email link, then use "Set a new one here." "How do I change my email?" Message support from the account page — it's the one thing we move for you by hand, so your reports never keep going to an old address while you're signed in under a new one. "Can I turn certain emails off?" There are no on/off switches — the page tells you exactly what gets sent (a report-ready email and reply heads-ups). Message support to change how you're reached. "Am I signed in as the homeowner or the agent?" The account menu and the account page both say it in plain words: "Homeowner" or "Buyer's agent." "Who answers the support form?" The HomeRecon team — questions about access, your account, or the portal itself. Your inspector answers questions about your report, on the report's own message thread. Good to know The account menu is fully keyboard-friendly: arrows move, Esc closes and puts you back where you were. A failed save never eats your typing — the page keeps what you wrote and says what went wrong. These pages exist because people live here for years — homeowners across the life of a house, agents across many deals and many firms.
