Legal — your agreement and ours

What this screen is for. Two different papers, kept deliberately apart: Your legal agreements — the inspection agreement your clients sign, which you write and own — and HomeRecon legal documents — our Terms, Privacy, and policies, with the record of what this account accepted. What every button does Your legal agreements: The banner that stays put: this is a starting point, not legal advice — HomeRecon is a software company, not a law firm. Several states set rules about what a pre-inspection agreement must say; have your own attorney review it before you use it. Require clients to sign before they get their report — on by default. Off means reports release without asking for a signature (the paid half of the Report Lock still applies); the helper says so in as many words. Start from a template — InterNACHI, ASHI, or HomeRecon standard: one tap fills the right Standards of Practice and your business name, and the template matching your current wording is lit green. Your own edits show "You're using your own wording." Agreement wording — the text itself, yours to edit. Two guardrails as you type: the AI-consent note (the paragraph asking your client's permission before their property goes into an AI tool is required and is always included on save), and the blank-Standards warning — if a ______ remains, "your agreement promises a standard it never names." Save agreement — writes a new version (the version chip climbs). The promise printed beside it matters: saving applies to future agreements only — anything a client already signed is kept unchanged, its own sealed version preserved, so any later change would show. What your client will read — a live preview of the exact signing page, so the preview can't drift from the real screen. Common questions "Can I use my own agreement wording?" Yes — paste it into the wording box and Save. The AI-consent paragraph rides along automatically because it's required. "Does changing my agreement affect reports I already delivered?" No. A signed agreement's own version is preserved with its seal — tamper-evident, never silently rewritten; your edit applies to the next client on. "What happens if I turn 'require signature' off?" Reports release without a signature — payment alone opens the lock. Most firms leave it on; the signed agreement is your protection. "Which template should I start from?" Your association's — InterNACHI or ASHI — or HomeRecon's standard. Then make it yours and have your attorney look once. "Where do I see what Terms I agreed to?"
